New beginnings
In April 2008, cosmically kindred spirits Chris (to be referred to from here on out as “Emmy”) and Lexie (to be referred to from here on out as “Lex”) purchased a 1995 Dolphin 533 motorhome, which was named the Incorrigible and will serve as a mobile base of operations starting in October 2008. We are going to get on the road and move from place to place, to see all of the things that we’ve been wanting to see for years (as well as a number of things that we didn’t know we had to see).
As we travel in our asphalt-bound dirigible, we’re going to indulge our passions and hobbies. In addition to a steady stream of automotive reviews, we are building a map of the places we visit. Wherever we go, we like to explore–thrift and antique stores, used bookstores, comic shops, goth-industrial clubs, junkyards and anything else that looks interesting. Unlike the local guides you can pick up at truck stops, or the travel magazines, we’re going to explore the places we go to and tell you where to find neat stuff, show you the neat stuff we found, and in many cases, show you what we did with it. Our guides are our hearts, our friends, offbeat travel guides like Roadside America and whatever random recommendations we get.
For those who’ve been faithfully reading Elepent Scribbles: thanks for reading and hanging around for so long! Have no fear, my weird-ass car reviews aren’t going away. In fact, I have access to more vehicles than ever, and regular updates will resume, as I get the archives put back online. Automotive content can be found free of filler at http://www.elepent.com/autos. Feel free to join us as we grow and evolve.
